Sustainable living
Your home is connected to the CHP (Combined Heat and Power) system of Warm Kop Grasweg. For the supply of heat and cold from the CHP we use a sustainable and environmentally friendly system: the heat pump. This enables you to heat your home comfortably when it is colder and to cool it down wonderfully in the hot summer months. Moreover, you always have access to hot tap water.
How does a CHP work?
An CHP system stores energy from the building in the ground. We store the heat contained in the building in one source and the cold in another source. In the summer, we use the cold groundwater source to cool your home. This water flows through the floor pipes and provides cooling. In this way, the water warms up slightly. We store this warm water in the other source in the ground.
During winter it works the other way around: we use the water from the warm source to heat your home. The heat pumps ensure that the water is at the right temperature to make your home comfortably warm. This hot water flows through the floor pipes and provides heat. Then we store the cooled water back in the cold groundwater source.
Operation in home
Delivery system
In your home or business premises, a delivery system is installed (the DRIES-box). This delivery system has a heat meter and a meter for hot tap water. The combined underfloor heating and cooling of your home and the hot tap water pipes in your home are connected to this delivery system. On the document page you will find a detailed description of how a delivery system looks and works in the manual of the delivery system. You can also view which pipes are connected to the delivery system. In the manuals you will also find instructions on how to read your consumption of heat and hot tap water on the digital consumption meter of the delivery system.
Thermostat
The thermostat allows you to adjust the temperature. Below you can read our tips:
- Opt for a fixed temperature
- The thermostat works slowly, change the temperature only when really necessary
- Set the setting to a maximum of a few degrees lower than the fixed temperature in the holiday or night mode
Underfloor heating and cooling
The delivery set is connected to your underfloor heating/floor cooling system. This is the main source of heating. Pay close attention when choosing a suitable floor. You will find all the important conditions in the brochure on the document page.
Property
The delivery system, including consumption meter, is owned by Warm Kop Grasweg. Everything from the delivery system to the indoor installation is the property of the owner of your home. This is either you or your landlord. Handle the delivery system and consumption meter with care. Do not hang or mount anything on, above or below the water meter. The place where the delivery system is located must be easily accessible and remain so, for example, for emergencies, failures or for inspection or repair by or on behalf of Warm Kop Grasweg. Also make sure that there are no things standing near the delivery system that could damage the delivery system. Is something damaged anyway or is the seal broken? Please contact us immediately.
The interior installation of your home, no property or responsibility of Warm Kop Grasweg
The indoor installation in your home is not the property of Warm Kop Grasweg. However, the indoor installation is of great influence on the functioning of our energy system. Therefore, we have set conditions that the indoor installation must meet. You can find these conditions on this site. Via the link responsibilities (dutch) below you will find information about the underfloor heating and cooling present in your home and read how best to deal with it. We also briefly explain the operation of the room thermostat.
Modify, expand or replace?
In a house with a connection to our energy system, installing, expanding or changing the (floor) heating system or a (room) thermostat works slightly differently than usual. This is because all changes or additions must meet our connection requirements. We advise you to have changes made to your heating system by or through Warm Kop Grasweg or by a certified installer. This is because they can also adjust the settings of your entire heating system to the modification. Changes to the indoor installation usually involve draining water from the pipes. Because you are not the only one connected to the energy system of Warm Kop Grasweg, we ask you to report your plans to us before you change anything. Then we will know that there is no leakage in the system and can prevent a potential problem for other users.
